Films at the Bundy’s Short Film Night returns due to popular demand!
Our last shorts session was a huge hit, and we’ve had quite a few members asking when we would put on another one. The answer: our final screening of 2026!
Forest Country (Haskins 2025)
This year, we’re delighted to bring you a selection of short films from Australia and overseas, in a mix of genres and styles from comedy to documentary, animation to noir, boisterous to serene. We’ll be screening these in two sessions (see below) with a short intermission for extra snacks, drinks and mingling time. Bring your friends, bring your pens to scribble notes and bring your festive, end-of-year vibes!

Please arrive between 7pm and 7:20pm for a prompt 7:30pm start. BYO snacks or drinks - or grab something from the kitchen for a gold coin donation. Membership payments can be made on the door (minimum $25) but remember that if you bring a friend along, they can attend their first screening for free. Shadows - Rand Beiruty (2024). Animation. True account of a teenager escaping Baghdad and an abusive marriage. (Jordan/France, 12min)
Cacica - Rebecca Wilson Rodriguez and Eliana Lafone, 2025. Artist Siu Vásquez traces the history of women in Colombia through her textile practice. (Colombia/UK, 10min)
Collage - Màrius Conrotto (2024). A gently humorous drama about the art of flirting, set in a gallery. (Spain, 9min)

Session 2: Australian films
Flight Risk - Mohammad Awad (3awadi), 2025. Islamophobia and homophobia collide in this airport security satire - based on a real event in the director’s life. (16min)
Dark Slide - Rory Fox, 2025. A couple of skaters break into an abandoned yard to film tricks, unaware that someone - or something - else is there. Comedy/horror. (5min)
Forest Country - Lewi Haskins, 2025. Documentary highlighting the continued destruction of Victorian native forests post-logging ban, and the beauty of what’s under threat. (10min)
The Kelp Collector - Jack Breedon, 2025. An oceanic portrait of Sandy Webb, collector of seaweed specimens off Victoria’s coast. (5min)
Keith - Michael Demarco and Nic Alexander, 2025. Comedy set in a child modelling agency, where children, parents and staff have equally large personalities and the day gets increasingly hectic. Keep up with Keith on Instagram. (15mins)

Please be aware that we are not able to provide comprehensive content notes or trigger warnings for films in advance. If you are concerned about a film and would like to check online, here are some websites that might help (although short films are rarely listed):
Does the Dog Die? Usually the most comprehensive resource in terms of film listings. However, the information is crowd sourced, so some listings are empty or incomplete. (Perhaps you could add notes after our screening!)
Trigger Checker. Search for the film and then for your specific triggers. This tends to list only more mainstream films.
Unconsenting Media. Specific warnings around sexual violence.
Common Sense Media. Aimed at parents, but useful to many.
