Written, directed by and starring Alice Lowe, this darkly comic and riotous romp through history has many of the hallmarks of Lowe’s previous films (Prevenge, Sightseers) - namely, gore, dark humour, silliness and death. Lots of death. Lowe’s character Agnes is doomed to continually meet the “love of her lives” Alex, only to repeatedly die in a variety of (often ridiculous) circumstances before they are able to form a lasting relationship. If it’s not clear from this description, here is a content warning: contains death.
